Ketel One Vodka Prices & Buyers’ Guide

Ketel One is a Dutch brand of luxury vodka owned by the Nolet family. They produce both classic and flavored vodkas positioned as “Top Shelf” competitors with Grey Goose and Belvedere. In addition to vodka, Ketel One produces Ketel one Jenever as well. Ketel One is produced at the Nolet Distillery, founded by the Nolet family after fleeing France during the 1690s due to religious persecution. The same distillery also produces Nolets gin.  Liquor giant Diageo is partnered with the brand but does not have ownership, which is retained by the Nolet family. The brand is named after the original pot still used in production at the distillery, Distilleerketel #1.

Ketel One is distilled from European winter wheat specifically sourced from farms that don’t use GMO’s. It is distilled first through a column still, then through copper pot stills, including the original coal-powered distilleerketel #1 from the 1800s. Following that, it is filtered, blended, and bottled by master distillers.

Ketel One Products

  • Ketel One

The original Ketel One vodka is bottled at 40% ABV and comes in a tall, clear glass bottle with a red and white label, which makes it easy to identify on the back bar. The brand prides itself on the “four F’s”. Fragrance, Flavor, Feel, and Finish. They have received numerous industry awards for their vodka, and Ketel One remains one of the most popular vodka brands worldwide.

  • Ketel One Citroen

Ketel One Citroen is made using Ketel One vodka, infused with citrus fruits. The vodka is infused with four types of lemon and two types of lime to give it an intense citrus flavor. Bottled at 40% ABV.

  • Ketel One Oranje

Ketel One Oranje also begins with Ketel One classic vodka which is then infused with the essence of Mandarin and Valencia oranges. The taste is described as crisp, fruity, refreshing, and lightly floral.  Bottled at 40% ABV.

  • Ketel One Botanicals

Ketel One’s newly launched Botanicals line is a series of infused vodkas bringing bright summer flavors to the table. The line includes Grapefruit and Rose, Cucumber, and Mint, and Peach and Orange Blossom flavored vodkas. • Grey Goose

Grey Goose is one of, if not the biggest competitors for Ketel One. They also produce a luxury vodka marketed as top shelf and have a line of high quality flavored options. Worth checking out, especially for their flavored vodkas which feature pear, melon, and vanilla in addition to citrus and orange vodkas directly competing with Ketel One Citroen and Oranje.

  • Stoli

While not always considered “top shelf” Stoli is a good alternative to Ketel One for flavored vodka options. Stoli has a wide range of flavors which brands like Ketel One and Grey Goose don’t cover such as raspberry and blueberry. If your drink of choice is flavored vodka and soda water, then Stoli isn’t a bad option.

  • Ciroc

Another luxury vodka coasting on the culinary reputation of anything french as high end. Ciroc offers a traditional vodka as well as numerous flavored options. Positioned as another top shelf competitor to Ketel One and Grey Goose, Ciroc is made from grapes rather than wheat, and offers numerous unique flavors not covered by the flavored ranges of Grey Goose and Ketel One.
